As well,  Glenda will be talking about the long awaited return of her band New Cuban Generation to Lula Lounge on Sunday December 10.

Driving from the east
401 West to Don Valley Parkway. Exit on Lakeshore Blvd. Travel westbound to Parliament. Turn left on Parliament St which turns into Queens Quay. The Guvernmenet and Kool Haus is on the northeast corner of Queens Quay and Jarvis

Driving from the West/South
QEW to Lakeshore Blvd, At Lakeshore Blvd continue Eastbound past Yonge St, to Jarvis Street. At Jarvis Street turn right (south) towards the lake.You will come to Queens Quay (at lights). Turn left. Guvernment is the large black building on the left.

Driving from the North
400 South to 427.Travel westbound to the Gardiner. Go eastbound on the Gardiner, exit at Jarvis St. Go through the intersection at Jarvis St and Lakeshore Blvd. Turn right on the first street past the lights - Richardson St. You will see the Guvernment and Kool Haus on the right, at the bottom of the street.

Public Transportation
From Union Station, exit through the Bay Street doors from the Go concourse.Take the "#6 Bay to Jarvis via Docks" bus going south, from the bus stop on the southwest corner of Bay Street and Front Street. Exit at Queens Quay East and Jarvis.

U.S. fans of Cuban salsa music are pushing ticket sales for a rare Toronto show by Los Van Van, says local promoter Billy Bryans.The veteran 17-piece band — and all other Cuban musicians — have been refused entry to the U.S. in recent years. Without U.S. gigs, big Cuban bands rarely make it to Canada now, either, but the website vanvanintoronto.com is promoting the concert with U.S. dance schools teaching the Cuban form of salsa known as casino rueda. Los Van Van play Dec. 9 at the Kool Haus; tickets are $40 at http://www.ticketpro.ca. Citing advance interest from Miami to Seattle, Bryans suggests a quarter of the audience might be American

On Sunday morning November 26 at around 8:40am, Juan Carlos and Sophie from the Okokan will be discussing the the Los Van Van show on 94.9 CHRW in London Ontario (University of Western Ontario) which can be heard on-line at www.chrwradio.com

Lele joins Radiohead!!

What?

For one song, Lele from Los Van Van interprets a song from one of England's most famous exports, the band Radiohead. If you have Realplayer you can check out the results by following the link from this article from NPR Radio.

It's from a compilation called Rhythms del Mundo - Cuba (with sound samples) which is a remix album where Cuban musicians and producers have remixed and orchestrated music from U2, Sting, the Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand etc
