Greetings all and welcome to the Manolito in Toronto weblog. Feel free to leave a comment, drop us an email or give us a phone call.

Here's the deal

MANOLITO SIMONET Y SU TRABUCO is making his first appearance ever in Toronto on Friday June 1 2007 at Six Degrees Nightclub (formerly called Berlins) at  2335 Yonge St in the Yonge and Eglinton area of town.

We will open the doors at 8pm, we will get Manolito on stage about 10:30pm. Music before and after will be provided by DJ Carlitos (SalsaTimba y Reggaeton) Manolito's band is the complete 18 piece Cuban orchestra comprised of strings and brass, percussion, keyboards, bass and three lead singers.

For live latin music to dance to it does not get any better than this.

You can get an idea of the sound from Manolito's Myspace page.

NOTE to dancers: For those who are familiar with Berlin's on a Tuesday we will clear the dancefloor of sofas and chairs and extend the stage out so the whole bottom floor should be one big dance floor.

NOTE to those concerned about the sound. We will be bringing in the major part of a whole new sound system in order to meets the needs of Manolito.

Coming To Toronto - Añejo Productions

This is the Casino Rueda video that includes Rick "DJ Darkrum" Washington from the legendary Bay area promotion and production company Añejo Productions.

Telmary

Telmary_01

Telmary is an amazing rapper, poet and spoken word artist from Havana who has been visiting Toronto this year. She has just released a great CD on Bis Records called A Diario, on which appears a song called Marilú that she recorded with members of Los Van Van including Mayito.

She's in town that night, so we are hoping Telmary sits in with LVV, it would be pretty electric.
